Pastor David Washington Jr. is the founding and Senior Pastor of Canton Christian Fellowship Church (CCF) in Canton, Michigan. He preaches the Word of God with passion and without apology and is known by his congregation as a true shepherd, teacher and leader. Pastor David is the youngest child and only son of Pastor David Washington Sr. and Elizabeth Washington. He was raised in the church and accepted Christ at the age of 8. He is the husband of Lady Errica Washington and the proud father of Gabriella, Hannah, Faith, Joyelle and David III.
Pastor Washington holds a BA in Marketing from Cornerstone University and a Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry at Northern Theological Seminary. He has earned a Diploma in Church Planting and is also a Certified Precept Inductive Bible Study teacher.
Pastor Washington was licensed to the gospel Ministry in November of 1999 at Mountain View Community Church in Temecula, California under the leadership of Pastor John Wells Jr. He was ordained in August of 2000 at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church.
Prior to pastoring, he spent 10 years in the corporate sector at two fortune 100 companies - Ford Motor Company and Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical - in various sales, marketing management, product planning and project management roles.
In 2000, Pastor David founded Canton Christian Fellowship. The church grew from an 8-member adult bible study to nearly 700 members today and God is adding to the church weekly. Pastor has maintained an approach to ministry that is uncompromising. He believes that the Word of God taught in a simple and applicable fashion can transform the lives of believers. He stands by the belief that the "Word of God is not just a Word to be read, but a life to be lived." In 2009, Pastor Washington founded Transformed Lives Ministries, a church consulting, leadership development and church planting network. Church planting has always been a passion of Pastor Washington’s and in 2014 CCF helped plant its first daughter church – Reach Church in Ypsilanti, Michigan under the leadership of Pastor Jason Robinson and Lady Ebony Robinson.
Pastor Washington has served and currently serves on several boards including:
Vice Chairperson, Moody Theological Seminary Advisory Board; Evangelical Pastors Network of Metro Detroit; Executive Team, Everyone A Chance to Hear (EACH); Send City Detroit Coordinator/Consultant, North American Mission Board (2012-2013); Trustee, North American Mission Board; Vice President, African American Fellowship of Pastors for the Baptist State Convention of Michigan (2008-2010); and Executive Board of the Baptist State Convention of Michigan (2006-2009).
